My brother actually read the manga of Parasyte, I haven't since I am really busy in school. My brother gave me a brief intro to what we might see in the movie so I was fully aware with the kind of "horror" that it is. Upon watching, me and my brother were very disappointed. There wasn't any character development like you wouldnt understand who or what the character really is because the scenes were being rushed. One characteristic of the parasites is that they are able to sense each other's presence. While this ability comes up multiple times throughout the movie, it is extremely inconsistent. How far away the parasites can detect each other pretty much depends on what the script calls for to where at points I was confused if the ability was universal or if they parasites could turn it on and off like a convenient switch. Comparing it to the manga, there were so many missing insights. Of course in the manga it is very detailed so you would know what the character thinks, feels and says, but in this movie,

there were so many missing emotions that make it boring because the actors depended on the facial expressions which didn't really work, in my opinion. What's good about this movie is the action part because it was cool and interesting, it made the movie a not-so-boring movie because of the action so it was okay. There were a lot of changes from the manga to the movie, its fine but if I were to pick I'd rather read the manga to get a better insight and feeling of the story rather than watching this. But nevertheless, I still enjoyed the cool camera effects.
